The fourth book IN OUR LIFETIME - is written and illustrated by Brian Piper and looks at Hawkhurst mainly across the latter half of the 20th century.
Brian, a keen photographer and local historian, has recorded much that has happened in the village in recent times. Many of his photographs have already appeared in local newspapers, history books and village calendars, and when postcards were the most economical way of communicating, he printed views of the village for sale in local shops for 6d. ea. +2d postage!
